BACKGROUND


Jacqueline is a national treasure in France, a young starlet of a jazz singer who has taken the country by storm - now she's aiming for her American break-through along with her manager and lover, Paul. But when she meets her old sweetheart, Isabelle, who's gotten divorced in the meantime, after half a decade away from her childhood town in Northern France where they grew up together and slowly begins rekindling the relationship, she gets in trouble with Paul who's worried any rumours of Isabelle's and her romantic history will harm Jacqueline's chances on the US music scene. So, he does what he can to get Isabelle out of the way and discourage Jacqueline from seeing her anymore.
